Basement Waterproofing

Basement waterproofing is important for a healthy and structurally sound home. TRITOFlex™ can waterproof your basement cost effectively with comparatively little time and labour spent.

Wet and damp basements are all too a common problem in New Zealand homes both new or old. Leaky basements create mildew, mould and can ruin flooring and wall materials. They prevent a household from harnessing the benefits of having a basement. And worst of all having a house with poor to no basement waterproofing can make your home a structural liability and if not resolved and will prove detrimental when coming to sell.

The main cause of a basement leak is a missing or faulty exterior wall. Water flows downhill and that means down your driveway or lawn and into your home. This water builds up in the soil around your property and puts pressure on basement floors and against basement walls. Your basement wall may end up functioning as a dam.

If this ‘dam’ has weak spots or cracks that can be infiltrated then moisture and in some cases running water will penetrate the wall and enter the basement. This moisture transports destructive salts thus creating a moist, musty and unhealthy basement.

Some might think the easiest fix would be to excavate the wall. However this option is not the most viable due to the high cost of money and time.

An easy and economical alternative to waterproofing your basement is by simply spraying TRITOFlex™ along the cracks and pipe penetrations that are the most common entry points for basement seepage. This quick application drives down labour and overhead costs. The Non-disruptive installation means no interruption to building operations and no loss of business or work time.

How will TRITOFlex™ water proof my basement?

TRITOFlex can be applied to both the exterior and interior of the walls of your basement. The ’black spray’ is essentially liquid rubber and will patch up those sneaky cracks and weak spots that moisture has found its way through.

Is TRITOFlex™ a good long term investment in leak proofing my basement?

TRITOFlex™ is a strong waterproofing membrane that will resist ponding water indefinitely. They can withstand hail and other heavy impacts. These waterproofing systems also resist punctures, UV rays, and many chemicals.

Will TRITOFlex™ make my basement smell funky like other professional fillers?

Not at all! TRITOFlex™ products are water-based, contain no VOCs (volatile organic compounds) and no solvents. This makes TRITOFlex™ virtually odourless.

If you’ve found yourself on this page because your leaky basement is keeping you up at night then pop TRITOFlex™ a call and see how easy and cost effective basement waterproofing can be.

Roof Coating

Thinking of coating your roof? TRITOFlex™ is a fast and effective way to future proof your roof, saving you time and money.

No one likes bad weather and least of all your roof.

An uncoated roof is an exposed roof and vulnerable to all forms of damage. Whether it’s the wild winds of Wellington or strong snow fall in Southland, you’ll want to be looking after your roof. When it comes to roof coating, sustainability isn’t a new concept. But roof coatings are receiving increased recognition due to more stringent environmental regulations and building codes.

Regardless of it being an obvious or unforeseen roof problem, they are always a pain and undoubtedly a significant expense. An uncoated roof can most commonly lead to roof leaks and if you’ve got a leak, you’ve got a problem.

Roof leaks can be caused by leaks at the joints due to erosion of your roofs surface over time. These joints can be between the roof and the chimney or around other penetrations made in your roof to accommodate things like skylights and vents.

You could also have leaking along your ‘flashing’ which is the thin metal sheet or fitting that covers a seam or transition on the roof. If spotted early enough, a small gap can be resealed. Left untended however and it could become a major leak requiring repair all the way down to the rafters.

This can all be avoided by giving your roof some TLC and applying a roof coating to prevent issues such as these down the track.

Essentially A ‘roof coating is a monolithic, fully adhered, fluid applied roofing membrane. Roof coatings have elastic properties that allows it to stretch and return to their original shape without damage. This is exactly what TRITOFlex™ is.

TRITOFlex™ is a liquid rubber which simply coats your roof. It dries fast forming a waterproof membrane for your roof.

TRITOFlex™  will be the topmost layer of protection for your roof. The rubber spray forms a uniform, seamless membrane that expands and contracts with the underlying roof.

TRITOFlex™ as your roof coating will receive and combat the full brunt of mother-nature as it takes on the impact of heavy winds, sunlight and hail.

It’s not worth putting your roof to the back of your mind as it might become a big worry down the track. By coating your roof with TRITOFlex™ your future proofing your roof and your home.

Roof Repairs

If you have a leaky roof which is in need of repair have a look to see how TRITOflex™ can make your big and small leak problems cost effectively disappear.

Don’t let your roof worries keep you up at night. If you’ve got a leaky roof you may feel like the only solution will be costly repairs or replacements, there is a better way . . .

Even the highest quality roof can deteriorate over time. After a roof has reached or surpassed its expected lifetime there can be some degradation of the roof materials. Your roof may become damaged due to a myriad of things.

Some of the common issues are:

Contamination on your roof

These materials such as moss, needles, leaves and tree branches slow water flow down the roof, hold water and cause water to flow sideways on a roof. This can cause water to pool on your roof in places which can erode places and infiltrate cracks.

Gaps in your flashing

Flashing is the thin metal sheet or fitting that covers a seam or transition of your roof. Wind driven rain may find its way past flashing that was installed. This is a common cause of leakage during storms as the rain will commonly find gaps in your flashing around high sides of your chimney or skylight

A leak in your roof doesn’t have to be a big deal. Due to the new technologies of TRITOflex™ your roof worries can be simply sprayed away.

What exactly is TRITOFlex™?

The liquid rubber of TRITOFlex™ forms an elastic and durable waterproof membrane to whatever surface it has been sprayed on. The liquid rubber product forms a fully adhered seamless rubber membrane without the need for thousands of screws to hold it down

TRITOFlex™ covers the cracks and holes that may have formed on your roof, ensuring water and moisture stays exactly where it should – outside.

What is the TRITOFlex™ processs?

The professionals from TritoNZ will come and assess your damaged roof. The process after that is simple. A primer is placed on the required area of your roof which is then sanded down and smoothed over. The liquid rubber is then sprayed on the surface creating an instant waterproof membrane. TritoNZ will then check it over to make sure there are no defects and will take action on any exisiting ones.

So if you’ve got a leaky roof then TRITOFlex™ applied by TritoNZ could be the most simple answer to your roof repair woes.

Green Roof Systems

Green roofs are fun, economically and environmentally friendly. TRITOFlex™ is the perfect helper for creating a Waterproofing Membrane when creating your own Green Roof. Ever wondered what a green roof is? Or why that house down the street has it’s lawn on it’s roof? Long popular in Europe, green rooftops have begun to appeal to homeowners and businesses in New Zealand.

Having a Green roof is seen as an attractive way to promote environmentalism while also solving the problems of a conventional roof.

What actually is a Green Roof?

A green roof (also known as a living roof) is a roof of a building that is partially or completely covered with vegetation.

What are the benefits of making my roof a Green Roof?

Green roofs serve several purposes for both the building, the environment and yourself.

Having Green Roofing means your roof will actually last longer than a conventional roof due to the protection it gives from the elements.

Green Roofs are highly beneficial to the environment as they remove CO2 from the air and release oxygen and can create a habitat for wildlife.

You’ll notice the difference in your energy bill with a Green Roof as they absorb rain water and provide natural insulation which cuts down your energy costs.

How can I create a Green Roof?

It pays to talk to a building professional before deciding to construct a Green Roof. For one, you need to make sure your roof is strong. A Green Roof is a lot of ‘dead weight’ on your house as they can weight anything up to 150KG per Sqm.

How does TRITOFlex™ help me with my Green Roof?

When creating a Green Roof it’s important to apply a waterproofing membrane between the insulation and protection matt. If you can imagine, you have a living organism on your roof, which means lots of water and moisture.

TRITOFlex™ will act as a moisture barrier as it’s sprayed on like a liquid rubber that dries hard, creating a tight, durable rubber sealant. TRITOflex™ is also very lightweight so it won’t add to the pressure of the layer of your Green Roof.

How does TRITOFlex™ work?

TRITOFlex™ is spray applied to any thickness in one coat directly over the existing roof. The liquid rubber product forms a fully adhered seamless rubber membrane without the need for thousands of screws to hold it down.

By simply spraying TRITOFlex™ onto your Green Roof project you’re ensuring no water or moisture will be infiltrating your roof and causing damage to the lower layers. Combine this with a drainage mat and soil medium – the vegetation possibilities for the roof are endless.

If you are considering creating a Green Roof then look to TRITOFlex™ to assist you in creating your environmentally friendly and cost effective roof.

Foundation Waterproofing

Foundation waterproofing is an essential addition to any house or home. TRITOFlex™ is the easiest and most cost effective answer. Simply have your foundation worries sprayed away. Other than your house burning down, probably the worst thing that can happen to a residential structure is a foundation problem. The foundation is literally what your house is built on and what keeps it where it’s meant to be.

One of the worst and most common foundation problems is water.

A leaky foundation in a residential building due to poor waterproofing can damage finishes and furnishings, even the structure itself.

In a commercial building, water and moisture can ruin expensive equipment and get in the way of important work. This can all add up to lost time and money.

Foundations commonly leak due to poor drainage outside water can easily penetrate un waterproofed floors and walls. Leaking can also occur because the soil surrounding your foundation and the walls of your basement have become overly saturated. This most commonly occurs after a long rainy winter.

By ensuring that your foundations are properly water tight you’re saving yourself a lot of time and stress down the track if things started to go wrong.

The best thing about TRITOFlex™ when it comes to waterproofing your foundations is that it makes those seemingly tricky or awkward jobs, very simple.

Because TRITOFlex™ is a spray it can get into the very hard to reach places both in and out of your home. The liquid rubber spray gets into those pesky nooks and crannies, dries hard and fast forming a tight sealant from water and moisture. You’re guaranteed no missed spots as the spray on waterproofing membrane can cover wide areas.

TRITOFlex™ also has an A class fire rating so there’s no issue with spraying it inside your home. TRITOFlex™ literally puts out its own fires, and there is no risk of a funny chemical smell after application as TRITOFlex™ is water-based and contains no VOCs (volatile organic compounds) and no solvents.

Above Grade Waterproofing

Whether you’re by the sea and are exposed to hammering salt spray or tucked away where you only get occasional rain – all buildings benefit from above-grade waterproofing. For your building to last more than a few years it must have above grade waterproofing. Imagine a structure with no flashings or sealants and no membranes on the roof and walls. Above grade waterproofing is essential.

Why is TRITOFlex™ the best option for my above grade waterproofing?

Above-grade coatings and sealants must be breathable and expandable. TRITOflex™ has a high 1,900% elongation and moves with your building.

Due to the harsh elements that your above grade structures are exposed to your waterproofing solution needs to be UV Resistant and able to deal with changing temperatures. TRITOflex™ is a liquid rubber spray that tries hard and strong. It’s unaffected by the harsh rays of the sun or the changing temperatures of the year. Your above grade waterproofing solution also needs to deal with abrasions and corrosion as it’s exposed. The waterproof membrane of TRITOflex™ is puncture resistant can take on extreme impacts.

What surfaces can TRITOflex™ be sprayed onto ?

When it comes to above grade waterproofing TRITOflex™ is perfect as it can be sprayed onto any surface. The versatile TRITOflex™ membrane performs in ways that other products don’t, such as conforming to joints, fasteners, flashings, and other awkward shapes. TRITOflex™ can be applied to metal as it forms a uniform, seamless membrane that expands and contracts with the underlying metal. This is without the need for fabric reinforcement or underlayment.

TRITOflex™ is also great for embedded gravel. If you’ve got an embedded gravel roof, wall or other foundation, TRITOflex™ is able to conform to the extremely uneven surface of the gravel without splitting and creates a fully adhered, watertight membrane.

What is the TRITOflex™ process?

The professionals from TritoNZ will come around and assess what above grade foundations you want waterproofed. The process after that is quick and easy. A primer is placed on the required area which is then sanded down and smoothed over. The liquid rubber is then sprayed on the surface creating an instant waterproof membrane. TritoNZ will then check it over to make sure there are no defects and will take action on any exisiting ones.

Finally TRITOflex™ can be painted on. This is important when you’re waterproofing your above grade foundations as you want your building to be aesthetically pleasing. Since TRITOflex™ is sprayed on lightly and dries fast there’s no issue with painting over the waterproof membrane.

TRITOflex™ is your best solution when it comes to above grade water proofing. It’s the cost effective, efficient way to waterproof your building.
